Anna Orlowsky, 100, of Pottsville, passed away at her residence, Wednesday morning, April 15, 2015.
Born in Pottsville, on June 2, 1914, she was the oldest child of Jan and Anna (Blahuta) Pitel.
Anna was a became member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Pottsville, after the closing of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, St. Clair. She became a member of Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church when she married her late husband, Joseph A. Orlowsky on August 15, 1936. Mom received all her sacraments at Immaculate Conception Church, St. Clair.
Anna attended Pottsville Schools. She worked in garment industry and retired from Onyx Blouse
Factory. After her retirement she worked part-time at the Pottsville Republican.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Orlowsky; sisters, Mary Swantner and Magdalen O'Boyle; and a brother Joseph S. Pitel.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph T. Orlowsky, Pottsville; Robert J. husband of Sandra Orlowsky, Jacobus, PA; sisters, Catherine Schock, Mentor, OH; Margaret Pfluger, Pottsville; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday April 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Clair, with Rev Robert Reiley and Monsignor William F. Glosser officiating. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9-10 a.m. at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery, St. Clair.
