Baldine R. (Traini) Rossi

Baldine Traini Rossi died peacefully on February 12, 2017 after a short illness. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.

Born 1936, in Pottsville, Baldine graduated from Ashland State Hospital and later did post graduate studies at N.Y.U. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1954. She lived in Rosemont, PA from 1955 to 1999. She had a successful career as a Registered Nurse and Supervisor, worked for Hahnemann Hospital Heart Surgery Operating room, Intracorp in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, and an Account Executive at Hollister, Inc.

She was involved in professional, social and civic organizations throughout her life which, included; The Germantown Cricket Club “Lady Assoc.- House & Lady Athletic”, The Cavaliers Club, Orthopedic Nurses Association, Catholic Alumni Clubs International, The Hospital Association of PA for Healthcare Quality, The American Diabetes Association, The English Speaking Union- Philadelphia Branch, The Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology, Main Line Ski Club, Citizens Fire Company, Palo Alto, The National Arbor Day Foundation, and an AARP member .

After retiring from her nursing career she returned to her hometown of Pottsville, PA to care for her mother, Stella D’Eramo Traini Coccia. She stayed actively involved in her community in her retirements as a Council member for the Borough of Palo Alto. She was also an active member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Port Carbon, PA.

Baldine was an exquisite dresser and loved good food and socializing, she could light up a room and was the life of every party she attended. She was dearly loved by her family and her many friends, including the “Dizzy Dozen” cheerleaders from Pottsville High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella D’Eramo Traini Coccia; father, Clement Traini; stepfather, Dominic Coccia.

Baldine is survived by her brothers Louis Traini husband of Angeline, Frederick, MD; John Traini husband of Marilyn, Hershey, PA; sisters, Lillian Dean Drayer wife of Dean, Hummelstown, PA; Gloria Grabenstein wife of Alexander, Libertytown, MD; uncle, Lou D’Eramo and his wife Gloria, their children; many nieces and nephews, and dear friend, and “Valentine” Joe Holohan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Monsignor William F. Glosser, off. Family and friends may call at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m and Saturday morning from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephens Church, 218 Valley St, Port Carbon, PA 17965.
