Beatrice R. (Lowthert) Klitsch

Beatrice Lowthert Klitsch, 95, of Pottsville, died Tuesday, August 16 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Beatrice graduated from Pottsville High School in 1937 and worked at various times as a legal secretary and in retail sales. She retired from employment to raise her family. She was very active at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, having served at various times as Junior Choir monitor, supervisor of Christian education, and member of the Administrative Board. Donations in her memory should be made to the First United Methodist Church and its window fund.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Reigle) Lowthert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Klitsch, whom she married in 1941; a son, Carl Jr.; a brother, Melvin Lowthert; and a sister, Lorraine Toomey.

She is survived by her sister, Thelma Salle; her son Michael and his wife, Jean Rodie; her son Charles and his husband, Chris Heller; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 pm at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville with Pastor John Wallace officiating.
