Bruno Gennerella, Jr., 91, of Port Carbon, entered into eternal rest Friday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center- East.

Born October 30, 1924, in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Bruno Gennerella, Sr. and Louise (Palumbo) Gennerella.

He was a 1943 Graduate of Pottsville High School and a Graduate of the former Ford Business School, Pottsville.  He retired in 1995 from Reidler Decal, St. Clair where he worked as a purchasing agent.

He proudly served in the US Navy in Midway Island.

Bruno was a member of St. Stephens RC church, Port Carbon and he was active in many organizations throughout the community some of which include: Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks; Life Member Pottsville AMVETS Post #180; Past President of Port Carbon Rotary; Life Member of Port Carbon Hose Co; Pottsville bowling league; Senior golf league; Knights of Columbus; Pottsville Catholic War Veterans; Experimental Aircraft Association Pilot; Schuylkill Aero Club Past President; Amor Fraternal, Palo Alto; and the American Sons of Italy Club, Palo Alto.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life Rosalie C. (Yanni) Gennerella in 2005.  He was also preceded in death by brothers Fred and John Gennerella; and a sister- in- law Helen Gennerella.

He is survived by a niece Martina Breiner wife of David; and nephews Robert Gennerella husband of Natalie; Perry Gennerella husband of Joelle; Dean Gennerella husband of Toni; Bob Yanni husband of Betsy; and Michael husband of Eileen.  He is also survived by a sister-in-law Sandie Gennerella; and several grandnieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM Tuesday July 26 at St. Stephen RC Church, Port Carbon, Msgr. William Glosser, Off.  Relatives and friends are invited pay their respects from 10:30 until the time of the Mass.  Interment will be held at St. Joseph RC Cemetery, Pottsville.  As per Bruno’s wishes Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Stephen RC Church 218 Valley St. Port Carbon PA 17965.
