Irene G. Marx

Irene G. Marx, 93, of Pottsville died Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center- East with her family by her side.

Born February 9, 1922 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Morris R. and Elizabeth (Evans) Hein.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband the late Thomas H. Marx and a son Albert Derr.   She was the last member of her immediate family.

Irene is survived by sons Thomas C. Marx and Christopher A. Marx, both of Pottsville; daughters Patricia Heffner, Minersville; Joan Searle, St. Clair; Gloria Capella, Pottsville; Joanne Tucci, Pottsville; and Karen Motley, Pottsville.  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 30 at 10:30 AM at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday from 8:30 until the time of service.  There will not be any calling hours Tuesday evening.  Interment will be held at Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville.  The family would prefer donations be made in Irene’s memory to The American Heart Association PO Box 15120 Chicago Ill. 60693.  Please visit www.schlitzerallenpugh.com to leave a condolence for the Marx family.
