Josephine J. (Urban) Kusiak

Josephine J. Kusiak, 97, Cumbola, died Sunday evening at Schuylkill Center Genesis Eldercare where she had been a guest. 

Born July 4, 1919, in 5 Points, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kielbowicz) Urban.

She was a member of the former St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Cumbola and a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia.

She retired from the former Phillips Van Huesen Corp. as a group leader after 45 years of employment. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A. Kusiak Brock who died December 1995.  She was also preceded in death by brothers, Simon Urban, Joseph (Wagner) Urban, Anthony Urban, and Joseph Urban; sisters Lucy Hulock, Ann Krause, Julia Daubert, and Nellie Tobin.

She is survived by her daughter Celestine M. Mestishen wife of Robert M., Cumbola; granddaughter Angela M. Mestishen Regnier wife of Brian C., Cumbola; and grandson Robert J. Mestishen, St.Clair.  She is also survived by three great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Bobbie Jozia”, Brock Alexander, Jacob Andrew and Alexa Josephine Regnier, Cumbola; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 139 Spruce St, Minersville, PA. Monsignor John Grabish, officiating with Rev. Leo Maletz as the concelebrant. Family and friends may call Friday morning at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be held in St. Anthony of Padua RC Cemetery, East Norwegian Township.
