Norman T. “Stormin’ Norman” Leahy, 71, of Pottsville, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, on February 20, 1946, he was the son of the late John Leahy and Marylouise Ball Sullivan.
Norm was a graduate of Pottsville High School. He retired in 2000 from Dana Corp., Reading, as a Welding Instructor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to the Chess Club in High School and enjoyed playing a game of Chess throughout his life. He loved playing games with his son and grandsons. He enjoyed being a “nanny” to his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Patrick RC Church, Pottsville.
Norman was married to the love of his life for 47 years in August, Karen I. (Jacoby) Leahy, in August 29, 1970.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Sullivan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; son, Andrew Leahy husband of Leah; daughters, Mary wife of Tomas Downer, Molly Leahy, Melissa Leahy and her boyfriend Jim Brady; grandsons, Jordan, Aiden, Tomas, Cade, and Killian; brothers, Jackie, Mark, Luke, and Tim Sullivan; sisters, Miriam Thomas and Lillian Bettinger; stepfather, John L. Sullivan; nieces and nephews, and two of his dogs, Lilly and Reese.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11am on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends may visit Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9am until the service.
