Robert C. Meiswinkle, 91, died on October 5th at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, Florida. He was born November 28, 1924 in Pottsville, Pa to Albert and Marie (Derr). He was raised in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pottsville High School in 1942.

Robert was a veteran of World War II, serving in England and Germany from 1942 to 1945.  Robert achieved the rank of Sergeant and returned to Pottsville at the end of the War.  Robert married his wartime bride, Felice (Nowak), who emigrated from Germany in 1948.  Robert and Felice celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past June.

Robert is survived by  his wife Felice, sister Jeanne (Meiswinkel) Robitaille Hill (Pottsville, PA), seven children: sons David Meiswinkle (West Windsor, NJ), Robert K. Meiswinkle (Vineland, NJ), Mark Meiswinkle and Christine (Johnson) Meiswinkle (Millville, NJ) and  Kevin Meiswinkel (Marlton, NJ); and daughters Susanne (Meiswinkle) Dalton and husband, John Dalton (Orlando, FL), Christa (Meiswinkle) Adams and deceased husband, John Adams (Thornton, PA), and Karen (Meiswinkle) Young (Millville, NJ). Also survived by niece Sharon Connell, nephew Glenn Robitaille, seventeen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

As a child, he enjoyed helping his grandmother with chores, playing street games with his siblings, going to the local movie theaters, and, associating with his neighborhood friends.  Robert was very thoughtful and considerate, always offering to provide a helping hand to those in need.

Robert held several key Sales Management positions during his extensive career, early on, with Breyer’s Ice Cream Company, and later and more substantially, with National Cash Register Company.  His success in sales can be directly attributed to a strong work ethic which he lovingly passed to his seven children.  Robert assumed a new sales territory with NCR in 1964 and moved his family from Pottsville, PA to Millville, NJ, where he and Felice raised their family.  Robert stressed education and was particularly proud that all seven children attended college.

Robert retired in 1994 when he and Felice moved to Orlando and later Clermont, Florida to enjoy the temperate weather.  Robert and Felice took advantage of retirement and enjoyed several international trips to Germany, Greece, France, England and Italy.

The family wishes to thank his doctors and staff at the Edgewater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Florida General Hospital-Waterman, and, Cornerstone Hospice House, for the outstanding care Robert was given during his final days.
