Thomas O. "Ceasar" Cessaro

October 2, 1939 ~ July 11, 2016 (age 76) 76 Years Old


Thomas Otto “Ceasar” Cessaro, 76, of Tamaqua passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 2, 1939, in Hazleton, son of the late Carl and Rose (Lombardo) Cessaro.

Tommy worked at J. Bass, Inc. until their closing and later at Chromtex, Inc. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. Tommy loved people and always enjoyed putting a smile on someone’s face. He will be remembered always walking around with his smile and great sense of humor. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, he'll be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Carl Cessaro; a daughter, Valerie Lee Cessaro; four sisters, Marie Mehalchick, Teresa Leone, Catherine Thomas, Carol Kapuschinsky, and a brother, Joseph Cessaro. He was also preceded in death by his wonderful dog Javy.

Tommy is survived by his wife Barbara Mary (Matruder) Cessaro a grand total 44 years married!!

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lynn (Kistler) Barnes and her husband Robert, Hazleton, and Cathy Ann (Kistler) Snyder and her husband Kevin, Spring Glen; a son, Thomas Cessaro, Jr and family., Hazleton; eight grandchildren, Sheree, Nicholas, Jasmine, Mason, Ethan, Jason Barnes, Richard Thomas Wolff and his wife Lucia, and Joe Alan Wolff Jr. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Hailie, Ryan, Dylan, Alicia, Joe Alan III, and Ashton Wolff; a sister-in-law Anna Cessaro, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made in Tommy’s memory to Volunteers of Loving Care c/o Lynn Barnes 588 Grant St., Hazleton, PA 18201.
