Kevin M. Starr

Kevin M. Starr, 54, Morea died Wednesday at his residence.

Born January 4, 1964, in Pottsville he was the son of the late John D. and Janet (Harron) Starr.

Kevin was a 1981 Graduate of Blue Mountain High School and a graduate of Hazleton Electrical School.  While in High School he was a State Champion Archer, member of the Choir and Stage Crew for the Drama Club.  After graduation he remained active in the Blue Mountain School District teaching archery and assisting with the stage crew. 

He was an avid hunter and sportsman.  He was a member and an Officer of Broad Mountain Archery Club since 1998.  He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan.   He coached CYO and AAU Basketball, soccer for Schuylkill Haven Rec Commission; and was the former CYO President of St. Ambrose Parish.

Kevin was very active in his community and his career with the IBEW 743 where he worked as a journeyman electrician.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by daughters Cymarron Marie Starr (1998), Raienha Patricia Bechtel (2002); son Dakotah John Jacob Starr (2009); grandson Jacob William James Bechtel (2002); a brother John D. Starr II (1974); and sister Linda E. Starr (1988).

Kevin is survived by his wife, Joan M. (Bender) Starr, Schuylkill Haven; daughter Jourdan Michele Starr, Schuylkill Haven; sisters Debra wife of David Moyer, Milford DE; Sharon wife of Steven Bigger, Port Carbon; brother Bryan D. Starr, Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday evening from 6 to 8PM at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home and Thursday morning from 10 to 11AM.  Funeral Services will be held 11AM Thursday at the funeral home.
