Thomas E. Shollenberger, 80, formerly of Schuylkill Haven died Thursday afternoon at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.
Born June 22, 1938 in Pottsville he was the son of the late Elmer and Ruth (Feeman) Shollenberger.
He was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School. He was also member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville where he served as Past President of Church Counsel, head usher, member of the property committee, youth group leader, and van driver. Tom was very active in the church and would participate any way he could.
His hobbies included woodworking and carpentry. Tom was employed as a truck driver having worked for Liberty Oil and Fanelli Trucking. He also worked as a carpenter for Shollenberger & McGuigan. He also served in the United States Army Reserves.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Ben Shollenberger and sisters Mildred Artz and Helen Barrett.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Linda Horning, Schuylkill Haven; daughters Lori Shollenberger, East Hampton MA and Amy Shollenberger, Barre VT; step daughter Tracy Sander and her husband Todd, Tabernacle NJ; grandchildren Jake Shollenberger, Lauren Sander and Nicole Sander; a sister Lois Kantner, Schuylkill Haven; several nieces & nephews including his favorite niece Kim.
A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday February 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, Rev. Chris Rothharpt, Off. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday at the church from 9:30 until time of service. Interment will be held on the grounds of the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Gardens.
