Colleen Cathryn  (Wylota) Matalavage, 67, of Pottsville, entered into eternal rest Monday morning at Lehigh Medical Center- Cedar Crest.

Born April 23, 1949, in Pottsville she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eileen (Muldowney) Wylota.

She was a 1967 Graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville and attended Penn State University.  After graduating she worked in the textile industry as a clothing quality manager.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.  Collen was active in many organizations including the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians- JFK #2 Division and the Schuylkill County Democratic Women's League.  She enjoyed volunteering her time at Assumption BVM School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John J. Wylota.

Collen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph J. Matalavage, Pottsville; her daughter Erin E. Portland and husband Adrian S., St. Clair; a grandson Emmet Padraig Portland, St. Clair; a brother Jospeh J.  Wylota, Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10o'clock Saturday January 28 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville Msgr. Edward O'Connor, Off.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday evening from 5 to 7PM and again Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside.
