Doris M. Kreps, 84, of Pine Grove, passed away Nov. 12 at Schoolyard Square-Pine Grove Assisted Living.

Born Nov. 4, 1932, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Marian Hammer Thompson.

Doris was a former member of United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Paul, David, Joseph, William W. Jr. and Robert Thompson; sisters, Nellie Thompson and Marian Cheesebrough.

She is survived by a daughter, Laura, wife of Terry Shumate; grandchildren, Steven Shumate and Anna Burrows; great-grandchildren, Vayden and Ashlyn Burrows; sisters, Ruth Livingston, Betty Ryndock and Catherine Schaeffer.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.
