Edward J. "Sook" Nevadomky, 66, of Pottsville, died Thursday morning at his residence.
Born April 22, 1948 in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Sadusky) Nevadomsky.
After graduating from the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah he enlisted in the US Army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He retired from the PA Department of Revenue where he worked as a field investigator
He was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville; life member of the American Hose Co., Pottsville and a volunteer for Pottsville EMS. He was a PIAA official for 20 years; baseball coach for Railway Park; and an avid Notre Dame and Philadelphia Eagles Fan.
Ed's biggest joy in life was spending time with his son and grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Nevadomsky, 2011 and a sister AnnMarie Kowalishen, 2012.
Ed is survived by the love of his life, his wife of nearly 35 years, Diane (Gross); a son Chad, Pottsville; grandsons Brayden Nevadomsky and Ty Karkanica, Pottsville; brother John Nevadomsky and his wife Cathy, Pottsville; sister Judy Forte, Philadelphia; sister in laws Pat Nevadomsky, Shenandoah; Karen Measel, Port Carbon; Rosemary Hostetter and her husband Bob, Pottsville; brother in law James Gross, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday July 21, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 8:30 until the time of service. There will not be any calling hours Sunday evening. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Queen of the Universe RC Cemetery, Pottsville.
The family would prefer donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The Disabled American Veterans.
