Evelyn Gentile, 96, a long-time resident of Pottsville, died on February 27, 2018 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA.

Born in Elizabethville, PA on April 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Louella (Schell) Warfield and graduated from Minersville High School in 1939.

In 1940, she married the late Joseph Gentile. They performed music together throughout Schuylkill and neighboring counties, living in Pottsville until 2006. During her career she worked for the Firestone Tire Company, Van Heusen, and the Pottsville Water Authority.

She was faithfully involved in numerous local associations, including various Trinity Lutheran Church organizations, Pottsville Lionettes, and The Schuylkill County Council for the Arts. She will be remembered by family and friends alike for her generosity and hospitality as a homemaker.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Ronald and Robert, both of California; two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Third and Arch Streets in Pottsville on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
