Harvey J. Reedy, age 90 of Pottsville, died Saturday April 26 at York Terrace Golden Living Center, Pottsville.

Born January 16, 1924 in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Harvey and Erma (Brinich) Reedy. He was a 1942 Graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville. He belonged to several bands including The Hillside Ranch Boys, The Twilighters, and The Skyliners.

In 1947, Harvey opened and operated Hillside TV Service. He worked as a television repairman until retiring in 2012.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II having been stationed in the South Pacific during the Battle of Guadalcanal.

Harvey is survived by his wife the former June Achenbach, Pottsville; sons Layne H. Reedy, Pottsville and Lance O. Reedy, Port Carbon; grandsons Nathan and Christopher Reedy, Schuylkill Haven; sisters Irene Witmer, Pottsville, Elaine Mataka, Pottsville, and Daneen Warfield, Pine Grove. He is also survived by a friend, Donna Hamblen, Pottsville and Yolanda Pratt, Bethlehem and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday May1 at 10 o'clock at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 6th&West Market Streets Pottsville. The Rev. James Fidler will be officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 9 o'clock until the time of service. There will not be any calling hours Wednesday evening. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer donations be made to Trinity United Church of Christ 316 West Market St. Pottsville PA 17901.
