John F. Minarick, 82, of Pottsville died Friday September 1, 2017 at home.

Born August 1, 1935 in St. Clair, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Melconich) Minarick.

He was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and a current member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.  He retired from STS where he was employed as a mechanic.

John is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Dolores M. McGovern, Pottsville; daughters Kathleen Salam wife of Nate, Wilmington, DE; and Jacqueline Minarick, Pottsville.  He is also survived by a granddaughter Lucy Salam, Wilmington, DE; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11o'clock Wednesday September 6 at St. Patrick RC Church, Pottsville.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10:30 until the time of Mass.  Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside.

The family would prefer donations be made to the Hillside SPCA 51 SPCA Road Pottsville PA 17901.
