On Monday May 31, John Alfred Rich Jr. went home to be with the Lord.  John passed after succumbing to injuries sustained while riding his bicycle.  Everyone who knew John loved him.  John was a most loving son and the primary care giver for his mother.

He leaves behind his dear mother Lena Rich, a brother Ed Rich, and his sister Gloria J. Amenu whom he affectionately called "the boss".  He was survived by his three children, John Rich, Kyle Rich, and Dorothea Williams.  John was very proud of his family and leaves behind 8 grandchildren they are, Samantha Morris, Brett Gets, Colin Keiter, Gavin Rich, Shelby Thompson, Ricky J Williams, Destiny Duckett, and Lena Williams.  John is also survived by one great grandchild, Emerson Morris.

John was predeceased by a grandson Isaiah and a great grandson Mateo.  In addition, John leaves behind his nieces and nephews and many cousins whom he loved and loved him.

John was a lover of life.  He loved riding his bike, fishing, camping and spending time with his friends and family.

A celebration of John's life will be held at noon Saturday June 5 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11 AM until the time of service.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
