John S. Sanna, 80, of Pottsville died Tuesday evening May 6, 2014 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East Pottsville.

Born in Shenandoah April 23, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Theresa (Villella) Sanna.

He was a member of the former St. Joseph RC Church, Pottsville. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

John retired from Verizon where he worked as a switching technician. He was also employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. and AT&T.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Anthony Sanna.

He is survived by his son, Robert Underwood, Pottsville; a brother, Thomas A. Sanna, Pottsville and a friend Shelby Kistler.

Funeral Services will be held 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 6th & West Market Streets Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 o'clock Monday evening and 8 o'clockuntil time of service Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will be held in St. Joseph RC Cemetery, Pottsville.
