Kathryn M. (Goetz) Buehler, 79, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Sunday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in St. Clair, May 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Antoinette Walukiewicz Goetz.

Kathryn graduate from Misericordia University with a Bachelor of Arts and a degree in Music Education.

In 2003 she retired as a Purchasing Agent for 30 years from Reading Anthracite, Pottsville.

Kathryn was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was the church organist since 1976, just recently retiring. She was the former President of the Family Guild, previous member of Catholic Women's Union. In 1996 she played the organ in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and the company for her dog, Sasha, baking, collecting snowmen, and puzzles, especially by Thomas Kinkade.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Richard W. "Dick" Buehler, 2010 and brother, Constantine "Connie" Goetz.

She is survived by her son, John M.W. Buehler, Pottsville; three grandchildren, Zoey, Tabitha, and Alexander; brother, Michael J. Goetz, Arnots Addition; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Ninth and Mahantongo Sts., Pottsville, with Rev. David J. Loeper officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville.
