Kathryn Jones, 95, of Pottsville, passed away Monday morning at Little Flower Manor, Darby, PA.

Born in Lansford, May 26, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Abner G. and Mary Jane (Brimmer) Heffelfinger.

She was a graduate of Lansford High School and was the valedictorian of her senior class. Kathryn received an Associate Degree from the Allentown Business College. Mrs. Jones worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Norman Wall, and Dr. Denis Bane & Associates prior to her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville.

On April 21, 1945, she married her loving husband Jenkin Jones, Jr., who passed away June 27, 2011.

In addition to her parents and late husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice L. Schaltenbrand; five brothers, George, Edward, James, Ben and Bill Heffelfinger and sister, Elizabeth Thomas.

She is survived by a son, Robert J. and his wife, Michele Jones, Lansdowne, PA; two granddaughters, Kelly L. Jones and Lindley M. Jones, both of New York City;  sisters-in-law, Mabel Heffelfinger, Oxford, PA; and, Gwen Jones, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. James Fidler will be officiating. Interment has taken place at Skyview Memorial Park.
