Lorraine B. (Bercher) Tasso, 88, of Pottsville passed away on Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center- East Norwegian.

Born in Pottsville on September 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Bettinger) Bercher.

Lorraine was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering at the Good Samaritan Hospital and was a Lionette for several years. She was an active member of Saint John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Tasso, brother, Francis Bercher and William Bercher.

She is survived by brother, Harold Bercher, VA; sisters, Nancy Carestia, FL; Joan Bowers, Pottsville; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St, Pottsville, with the Rev. David J. Loeper officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Chapel, Pottsville. Family and Friends are invited to attend calling hours at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30a.m.
