Nancy A. Hesse, 80, of Pottsville passed away Monday morning surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Born November 14, 1935, Pottsville, she was daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosalie Horan Pauly.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson William E. "Billy" Hesse.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William J. Hesse. Also survived by children, William T. Hesse, Pottsville; Debra M. Lombel, Schuylkill Haven; and Carol A. Wood, wife of David, Pottsville. Her surviving grandchildren are Jesse Wood, Florida; Rachel Wood, Pottsville; Justin Lombel, Schuylkill Haven; and Kyle Lombel, California. She is also survived by a brother, Larry T. Pauly, Pottsville and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a 1953 graduate of St. Clair High School. She was a Real Estate Agent for 30 plus years with Ryon Real Estate.

Nancy was an active member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville. She volunteered her time as an ombudsman at local nursing homes, and for many years was an advocate for Schuylkill Women in Crisis. She was the secretary of the Catholic War Vets Ladies Auxiliary. At one time she was the Director of the Schuylkill County Board of Realtors, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Friday, October 21 at St. Patrick Church, Pottsville with Monsignor Edward J. O'Connor officiating. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9am-10:30am at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will be held in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville.
