Obituary

Peggy Pfluger, 94, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born October 20, 1921, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Anna (Blahuta) Pitel.

Peggy was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and the Catholic Women's Union.  She was retired from the Pottsville Republican where she had worked as a proof reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Pfluger, who passed away May 25, 2005.  The two had married August 30, 1947.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Pitel; and sisters Anna Orlowsky, Mary Swantner, and Magdeline O'Boyle.

Peggy is survived by sons John J. Pfluger, Pottsville; and Peter D. Pfluger husband of Elaine (Botto), Fultondale, AL; a daughter, Mary Ann Coleman, Knoxville, TN; and a sister Catherine Schock, Ohio.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Megan Phillips, Michael Coleman, John Pfluger, Janelle Pfluger Ariai, Brigitte Pfluger, and Alex Pfluger; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30AM Monday at St. John the Baptist RC Church, Pottsville Rev. David Loeper, Off.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at the Church.  Interment will be at St. John the Baptist RC Cemetery, Pottsville.  As per Peggy's wishes Memorial Donations can be made to St. John the Baptist RC Church Memorial Fund 913 Mahantongo St. Pottsville PA 17901.
