Obituary

Rita May Roos (Oct 31,1929-June 1, 2013) Rita, after a long and brave battle was called home to be with her Lord on June 1st at the age of 83. Our mom had many roles: daughter, sister, wife, , .^...o-U-A mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend. She was feisty, hard-working, a bit stubborn, giving, determined, opinionated and faithful. If happiness could be defined in simple moments, mom's would include: bowling a strike, catching a fish, rolling a Yahty.ee (especially when Nan was her opponent!), sitting on her front porch with a hot cup of tea, floating in her pool, going for walks, having ice cream on abench at Heisler's and probably most of all, holding a baby. Mom spent years of her life sitting on a hard chair in front of a sewing machine in a textile factory but later never let a sore back stop her from hours and hours on uncomfortable bleachers as she proudly cheered at innumerous sporting events for her children and their children and then even her grandchildren's children! Once upon a time she loved our dad Carl... and later her chubby black dog, aptly named 'Shadow.' One she managed to train, the other...well...not so much. But love was love to our mom. That was the funny thing at times. Whether it was her husband, her dog or a friend of a friend who moved away thirty years ago but still occasionally sent a funny emaiL. if she loved you...it was a lifelong deal. Our mom sewed the days and experiences of her life together like a 'crazy quilt'a
