Robert J. Sipple, 87, a resident of New Ringgold, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 2, 2024.

Bob was born in Pottsville on February 9, 1938, a son of the late Henry and Catherine (Sipple) Mehling.  After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country for over 20 years until his retirement as a air traffic control supervisor, earning the rank of Technical Sergeant.  His enlistment had him traveling all over the country, and lastly to Saudi Arabia.  Upon his retirement, he worked as an after hours security agent for Schuylkill Products in Schuylkill Haven.

He and his wife of 28 years, Betty (Wenrich) Sipple enjoyed traveling and camping, and spent the winter months in Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Mendoza and a sister Rose Marie Campion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty and children, Patricia Campbell; BobbyJo Bumm; BillieJo Sipple; Pamela Kline; Tammy Boussum and Terri Chattin.  A sister Margaret Mehling and a brother Henry (Butch) Mehling also survive, as do many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville, with the Rev. Hugh Vrablic officiating.  A viewing will be held from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Bob will be laid to rest following the service at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, with Military Honors being accorded at 2 PM prior to his burial.
