Stephen W. Spleen, 76, of Pottsville, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, July 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Stephen F. and Mary K. Flannery Spleen.

Stephen was a graduate from Pottsville High School, from the class of 1958.

He proudly severed his country, having served in the United States Army.

Stephen was employed for 43 years at the United Metal Receptacle, Pottsville. He was the president of The Stag Archers and a member of the Steins Hollow Beagle Club. Stephen was a State Archer Champion.

He is survived by sisters Sally Joy, Schuylkill Haven and Mary Ellen Moyer, wife of Daniel, Sr., Pottsville; brothers William, Pottsville; Frank, Palo Alto; and Jack, husband of Susan, Pottsville; nieces and nephews; companion, Maryanne Genovese.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's RC Church, 319 Mahantongo St, Pottsville. Family and Friends may call Friday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's RC Church lower chapel. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Pottsville. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
