Obituary

Thomas H. Xedeas, 83, of Pottsville, died Friday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Pottsville, Dec. 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Harry and Anna (Lyston) Xedeas.

Thomas was awarded the Contract Administration Employee of the Year by the Defense Contract Administration Service Region of Philadelphia. He was also inducted into the Allen-Rogowicz Hall of Fame. He was a member of a four-man team that held the record for the mile relay at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia for 20 years.

He was an active member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice (Zimmerman) Xedeas, daughter, Deborah Lee (Bohr) Xedeas, and sister, Elaine Xedeas.

He is survived by his granddaughters, Angelique Schultz and Alexis Bohr, both of Pottsville; great-granddaughter, Olivia Schultz, Pottsville; sister, Thelma Crepack, Pottsville; and his companion of 25 years Mary Ann Halpin.

Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Fourth and Mahantongo streets, Pottsville, with Monsignor O'Connor officiating. Friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville.
