Wendell P. Jenkins, 62, Pottsville, died Saturday morning at his home with his loving wife by his side.
Born January 4, 1952 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Elmer Jenkins and the late June Stidley.
He worked as a cabinet maker and woodworker. Wendell was an avid Civil War enthusiast and an amateur archeologist who had a passion for collecting antiques. He and his wife Diane would spend many hours digging for treasures. Wendell loved his dogs and enjoyed walking them on Mahantongo Street.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jon Jenkins.
Wendell is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of nearly 31 years, Diane (Stevenosky), Pottsville; stepchildren Lisa Schock, Falls Church, VA; Carolynne Winkler, HayMarket, VA; and Vernon Schock III, Sacramento, CA; brothers Don Jenkins, VA; Eric Jenkins, Rockville, MD; and Kim Stidley, Roundhill, VA; stepgrandchildren Victoria and David English; nieces Jenny Jenkins, Kelsey and Kendra Stidley; and a nephew Donald Jenkins.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville PA 17901. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9 AM until time of service. Interment will be held at St. Vincent RC Cemetery, Minersville PA.
