Obituary

William A. "Bill" Terrill, 75, of Pottsville, died Monday morning at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born in Pottsville on January 6, 1939, he was a son of the late William B. and Mary (Ansbach) Terrill. He was a 1957 graduate of Pottsville High School.


Until retiring in 1998, he worked for Argo Mills for over 30 years, started as a knitter and was then promoted to a machinist. After high school he served an apprentice at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro. Bill was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville. He was a member of the Mechanicsville Game & Fish Association for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking and going to the family cabin in Sullivan County.


William is survived by a son William C. and his wife Jesenia, East Lansing, MI; three daughters, Lisa A. and her husband Bradley Neil, Harrisburg, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Chris Mengle, Phillipsburg, NJ, and Mary Ellen and her husband Craig Scott, Bloomfield, CT; five grandchildren, Megan N. Neil, Jenna R. Neil, Spencer W. Scott, Vivian R. Scott, and William D. Terrill; a sister Dolores Terrill, Pottsville; and a niece Danielle Bracken, Pottsville.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth A. (McGovern) Terrill, brother-in-law Harry Axling; sister-in-law Patricia (McGovern) Axling; a niece Susan A. Axling; and two grandchildren, Nicole R. Neil and Ryan D. Scott.


Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, with the Rev. Jeff Colarossi officiating. Viewing for family and friends will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and Friday morning from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, St. Clair.
