William F. Spleen, 73, of Pottsville passed away Tuesday evening at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, June 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Stephen F. and Mary K. Flannery Spleen.

William was a graduate from Pottsville High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.  He worked as a machine operator at Shalmet and worked for Allentown Construction.

He was a member of St. Patrick's RC Church, Pottsville and the Mid-Atlantic Nomad Association.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen W. Spleen and his loved one, Carol Mohl.

He is survived by daughter, Heather wife of Rich Garrity; granddaughter, Abigail Garrity; Richard Mohl, Jr.; sisters, Sally Joy and Mary Ellen Moyer wife of Daniel, Sr.; brothers, Frank Spleen and Jack Spleen husband of Susan; companion, Natalie Setlock; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11:15 AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St, Pottsville. Family and Friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
