Jean M. Seltzer, 92, of Pottsville entered into eternal rest Friday afternoon at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born June 7, 1929 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Frew and the late Frances (Brehony) Cassidy.
Growing up in the small borough of Mt. Carbon, she attended the former St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church and graduated from Pottsville High School in 1946. She was employed as a medical secretary and office manager for Dr. Amiclar Longarini in Pottsville. She later became a parishioner at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed ceramics and painting. Many of her pieces have been passed down to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald R. Seltzer, Sr. (2011); son Gerald R. Seltzer, Jr.; and her step-father M. Matthias W. Cassidy.
Jean leaves behind a daughter Patricia Seiberling wife of Tom, Frackville; grandsons Mark Seiberling husband of Amanda, Philadelphia; Brian Seiberling husband of Amy, Ohio; and Christopher Seltzer husband of Tia, Schuylkill Haven; and nine great-grandchildren Abbey, Kylie, Aubrey, Jacob and Kennedy Seiberling; Sydney Seiberling; and Ava, Mason, and Hudson Seltzer.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market St. Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held on the grounds of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside.
