I'm saddened by the lost of such a gentle man. I knew Pastor Joe for 5 years at the Gilberton methodist church from 2009-2014. I remember he got excited when I told him I wanted to be a pastor. I'll always remember him as a loving man. Sometimes he would pat me on the back as he would walked by. I liked him so much that I would go to church to see him once a week. He certainly deserves his reward in God's kingdom. Thank you Joe for the love you showed me. You will be missed.

You have my heartfelt sympathy. Joe was an eager and energetic participant in my Leadership and Administration segment of Local Pastors' Licensing School a couple of years back. His passion for Christ and the church were evident. May you and all who knew him be kept in the resurrection hope we share in Christ Jesus.

To the Family of Joseph Murton V,

I serve as a local pastor in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference at Hopewell UMC and am also a former police officer. I did not know Joe but felt compelled to send this note in honor of a fellow pastor and a brother police officer who served with distinction his community and his Lord. I salute you, my brother Joseph, as you now rest from your labor and see Jesus face to face.
