Marguerite E Adamick

Marguerite E. Adamick, 92, passed away quietly Friday, December 15, 2017 at Seton Manor Nursing Facility, Orwigsburg.

Born September 2, 1925 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Stella (Cantwell) Smith.

She attended Pottsville High School and Eastern High School in Washington, DC. The build up to World War II she was employed by the Department of the Navy in Washington and upon returning to Pottsville she worked Sears, Roebuck and Co., Pomeroy’s Department Store, and the Benevolent Home for Children.

Throughout her adult life, Marguerite was a devout member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John “Beansie” Adamick who passed away September 22, 1998, sisters Kathleen Wilson (Sept. 1981), Leona Kutney (Dec. 1997) and brother Leo Smith (Feb. 2008).

She is survived by her sons Richard of St. Charles, MO and John of Redondo Beach, CA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friend may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm and Wednesday morning from 9:45 am – 10:45 am at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville.
