Raymond D. Heim Sr., 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
He was born April 8, 1935 in Melmont, PA, to the late Franklin and Mary (Smith) Heim.
Raymond proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis. Raymond was a graduate of the former Soldiers Memorial High School, Port Carbon and was a truck driver for Roadway. He was a member of St. Ambrose RC Church, Schuylkill Haven; the Schuylkill Haven VFW; the Second Mountain Rod and Club, Orwigsburg; and the Cressona Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife to whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage November 28, Mary Jane (Breslin) Heim, Schuylkill Haven; son, Raymond, Jr. and his wife, Brenda C. Heim, Annapolis, MD; daughter, Debra and her husband, George T. Wagner, Orwigsburg; five grandchildren, Tricia Scheib and her husband Warren V. Scheib, Nathaniel and Keith Wagner, Ryan and Aidan Heim; two great grandchildren, Ella and Carrie Scheib; sister, Mary Hyde, Lincolnton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 302 Randel St. Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are invited to visit from 9:30 am to 10:15 am at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
